Empathic Approach
Allow someone to hold space for you and your struggles. Our therapeutic rapport and authentic human connection will become the guiding force on your healing journey. You will be met in session with compassion and respect in a confidential space and be encouraged to grow and fulfill your potential.
Trauma ProcessingTherapeutic methods such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) can be effective to process the past emotions and memories related to a traumatic event in order to reduce flashbacks and feel freedom in your present day life.
Cognitive Behavioural TherapyCBT allows you to become aware of common negative thought patterns so you can view challenging situations in your life more clearly and respond them in a more effective way. Learning to notice and replace unhelpful thought patterns is a skill that can be cultivated, allowing for better choices in your daily life.
MeditationMeditation is the practice of learning how to focus your minds attention and shift your brain into a more relaxed state so that you can think clearly or sleep more deeply. This can be done simply by following the breath, focusing on the present moment or with the aid of binaural beats/music.
Breathing TechniquesThe body, mind and breath are intricately connected. Learning to practice certain breathing techniques can engage the parasympathetic nervous system or the relaxation response in the body. When we are mindful of our breathing patterns it becomes easier to regulate our emotions and enjoy life more.
Behaviour ChangeIf you’ve ever tried to break a habit or change your behaviour than you know it can be challenging. Knowing how the brain changes is key to sustaining your new healthy habits. Taking small steps, using mindfulness, understanding the habit loop, and engaging in positive reinforcement are all important.
